[No One]

Waking up and looking around, Swift notices the smoldering ashes of a long-dead campfire, an empty bottle (that was no-doubt filled with spirits the night before), and trees. LOTS of trees. The clearing she finds herself in is small and contains nothing but all the afore mentioned items, and her with her weapons, a ragged ruck-sack, and an unrolled sleeping bag.

As she struggles to remember where she is and how she got there, she notices footprints in the grass surrounding her small campsite. Despite not knowing exactly where she is or how she got there, she is certain that she is supposed to be alone, and wonders if someone had been observing her the night before...

She remembers only traveling, walking and resting, over and over every single day. It is the same as usual, trying to find a purpose on the surface world and being thankful that she's not still trapped within the cruel Underdark...

Gathering her things, she starts in the directions of the footprints...

Elsewhere in the Ryouko Village Dojo, Ryuusei sits on his stage, polishing the Koji-ken.

He sits quietly as he carefully wipes the oil from the blade.

RYUUSEI: 'Hm.... No one's been here in awhile...'

RYUUSEI: "Yoh! Where are you?"

Ryuusei waits for Asakura's response.

[Tasuke]

A golden-eyed boy walked lazily into the room, he was clothed in a plain white t-shirt and jeans. Around his neck was his usual orange headphones. The sun outlined his features. As the wind blew in through the open window, his hair was blown about gently.

Yoh: "Yeah, I'm right here."

[Vegeta]

RYUUSEI: "Yoh, take the Bokken and dust them off. Once you do that, I want you to apply a fresh coat of laquor to them all. All 30 of them. I'll be checking behind you too, so don't be lazy, or I'll make you do them all over again."

Ryuusei looks out the window.

RYUUSEI: "Things have been lax, but it's still no reason to keep things in disrepair."

[Tasuke]

Yoh: "Huh? Hey, that's not fair! Today was supposed to be my day off, too."

Sighing, Yoh pulled his headphones over his ears, and got started on dusting the Bokken...

[No One]

Not so far away, Swift finds herself at the edge of the forest. The footprints that she has been following have lead her to a quiet village. Making sure her hood is over her head, she makes her way into the sleepy looking settlement, and notices villagers casting weary looks her way. Though it still bothers her just a little, she's used to it and pays them no mind. After all, can she blame them? The last time she saw another of her kind, she was still living in the wretched Underdark, and that was not a comforting thought.

Swift pushes all memories of her past into the back of her mind as she continues to search for a hot meal, afraid that if the villagers become too uncomfortable with her presence, she might have to leave the village and hunt for one herself...as usual. Spotting what looks like a tavern, with men and women stumbling in and out laughing merrily, she heads toward it hoping not to get chased out and deprived of a descent meal again.

Before getting too close to the door, Swift pulls the hood of her long black cloak securely over her ebony face and silvery white hair, hoping to conceal her stunning violet eyes and telltale pointed ears.

She walks in and finds a dark corner with a small table and single chair.

SWIFT: 'a perfect spot to remain inconspicuous...'

She notices a barmaid and motions her over.

SWIFT: "One bottle of your finest spirits, I would like" *her Drow accent is very thick, and sounds strange and melodic*

After staring blankly for a few seconds, as if the cogs in her head aren't working correctly, the barmaid finally understands the request and hurries off.

SWIFT: 'I can't believe I haven't had any trouble yet! This village must not mind strangers too much, or maybe they just haven't noticed what I am....'

As she waits for the bar maid to return, she wonders if she should ask the innkeeper to rent a room for the night...

[Tasuke]

By now, Yoh was sitting under the open window, and was just about done with applying a fresh coat of laquor to the Bokken. While working, his stomach gave a loud grumble...

Yoh: "Ehh... Can we get some food after I finish?"

[Vegeta]

RYUUSEI: "Go ahead, you've done enough. I'll even go with you."

Ryuusei slides the newly polished Harusame back into its scabbard, and tucks it and Koji-Ken securely into his sash.

RYUUSEI: "I've polished both my blades, so I don't expect you to work any longer than me. Let's go. I'll pay for us both this once, since you did such a fine job. We'll finish the rest upon our return."

Ryuusei heads out the door, walking slowly so that Yoh can catch up with him.

[Tasuke]

Putting away the last of the Bokken, Yoh gets up and jogs over to Amidamaru. He walks happily next to him.

Yoh: "Yay!"

[No One]

As the bar maid sets the bottle and a mug down in front of her, Swift notices a man walk in with an eager looking boy. Looking closer, she notices that the boy has uniquely golden colored eyes, which remind her of her own unique violet eyes. The two of them choose a table close to hers, which is ok since she planned on keeping a close eye on them...

[Vegeta]

Ryuusei leans back in his chair, arm slung over the back of it, which appears to be an unorthodox manner for a Samurai.

RYUUSEI: "Barmaid! We're in need of your services."

Ryuusei looks at Yoh.

RYUUSEI: "Go ahead and order what you like. Make sure to order plenty."

The barmaid walks over.

RYUUSEI: "I'll have the fried rice, chicken tempura, teriyaki, and the miso soup, with three riceballs. Throw in an order of ramen with it also. And I'll also have a bottle of sake to wash it down with."

He looks to Yoh again.

RYUUSEI: "Go ahead and order."

[Tasuke]

Sitting cross legged on his chair, Yoh rested his arms on the table.

Yoh: "I'll have... fried rice, curry udon, and the miso soup, three riceballs. Ramen sounds good. Some tea would be nice as well."

Leaning back on his chair, Yoh had both of his arms behind it. Giving a quick side-long glance, he spotted the cloaked woman whom was watching him.

[Vegeta]

Ryuusei notices Yoh's suspicious glance, and looks at the reflection in the window to see what was behind him without turning around.
He eases himself assured that there is no imminent threat.

RYUUSEI: "Relax, it's nothing to be concerned about."

[No One]

As the tall man takes his seat and carelessly flings his arm over the back of the chair, Swift notices that not only does he have white hair, but his eyes are violet like hers! Never having seen anyone that looked so close to her appearance, (aside from those of her own race) she continues to stare. She notices that both the tall man and the boy have pointed ears as well.

SWIFT: 'the only thing different about the man and myself is our skin color!'

She quickly turne away from them as she sees that the boy has noticed her staring in awe...

After much thought, she decides to remove the hood of her cloak to reveal her silvery-white hair, pointed ears, violet eyes, and her dark skin. Never having done this willingly before, she is slightly nervous about the reaction of the others in the tavern and waits to see what will happen...

[Tasuke]

He watched, as she pulled her hood down. Turning back to face Amidamaru, he whispered...

Yoh: "Hm, interesting."
